# Motion Detection

For this to work, Axis camera must be configured as follows

### Setup Motion Detection

* *AXIS Video Motion Detection* application must be enabled and running. Make sure of this by going to *Settings* - *Apps* - *AXIS Video Motion Detection*
* Setup the app according to your needs in terms of sensitivity and regions of interest. The manual for your camera will guide you on this.

### Setup Rules to alert IDCamPro

Axis camera needs to send a trigger to IDcamPro via network. This is done by creating rules on the camera.

* Go to *Settings* - *System* - *Events*
* Create a new rule that is triggered by *Motion Detection*
* Action must be created to connectto IDCamPro on the IP address of IDCamPro laptop and port 8889
* The text to send to IDCamPro must be "*motion*" without parantheses

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.dbnetsoft.com/dbnetsoft/idcampro/configuration/cameras/axis/motion-detection.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
